![]() ![]() While it's worth a look and is pretty on the eyes, it can be rough on your patience. You have a light attack with Thora’s axe, a hard-hitting heavy attack with a major delay, and a dodge. The same excitement pops up on other levels, too, such as in a snowy area, where intermittent blizzards force you to think carefully on your feet to seek refuge as you make your way, or on a lightning-themed level, where you must move carefully to avoid getting struck at any moment while working on environmental puzzles. Gameplay is 16-bit levels of simple, and yes, that is a compliment. On the other hand, this makes combat in the bigger showdowns much more dramatic, even if you're fighting with the controls. For Jotun: Valhalla Edition on the PlayStation 4, GameFAQs hosts videos from GameSpot and submitted by users. Some would say this pads the game's running time or is meant to have you reflect on the impressive visuals, but it just gets frustrating when you want to keep it moving and progress. You'll also find yourself rethinking how to explore an area, moving very slowly through vast areas just to figure out where you want to go next. ![]() That means you can expect to replay the boss fights over and over again. This seems strange, because something so much bigger than you should be slower, but this isn't the case. This proves problematic when you're facing down big big bosses who use their scale to make you feel truly small and who easily gain the upper hand because you're frequently unable to move or get out of the way of their fierce strikes. ![]() You get locked into animations and can't move until they finish. Shun the Gods - Fé (25 GP) Defeat Fé without using any God Power. Risky Business (25 GP) Defeat Kaunan while at less than 10 health. Perfect - Valhalla (100 GP) Defeat each jotun in Valhalla Mode without taking damage. Expect more news on that game soon! I'll put a trailer to both games below. This gorgeous hand-drawn adventure is very pretty, which is in stark contrast to how stiff and plodding the game's controls and overall maneuvering can be. Perfect - Odin (25 GP) Defeat Odin without taking any damage. If you end up liking the game, be sure to help small developers and pre-order Sundered. Though hey, it's free! Beggars can't be choosers, and would you really want to skip out on adding another title to your Steam Collection? You can expect this deal to end this Monday. So those of you who get frustrated easily might want to sit this one out. Now I've been reading up on the game, and it appears many found the difficulty curve quite steep. The game released back in 2015 to mostly positive reviews, with obvious flaws in the design being pointed out, and has been getting pretty positive reviews from the community. ![]() While I have never actually played the game (though I intend to) it appears to be a hand drawn action-adventure game. This generosity comes just weeks before the release of Sundered, Thunder Lotus Games' next installment. The updated version Jotun: Valhalla Edition is now available on PS4 for digital download via PSN and, last week, Pure PlayStation’s Dom O’Leary got his chance to impress. Just head to one of those two places and download it. Jotun first came to PC in September 2015, and gained quite the name for itself with its beautifully styled, hand-drawn graphics. Right now Jotun is completely free on Steam and GOG.com. Seriously, I'm not even lying in the title. ![]()
